It’s that time of the year again! Halloween is just
around the corner, and Sacred Heart Major Seminary
needs your help. Each year the seminary community
opens their doors and their hearts to over 2000 children
from the surrounding Detroit neighborhood so
that the kids can have a fun and safe place to play
games and trick-or-treat. But they need your help to
make this year a success! They are asking for donations
of Halloween candy that will then be passed out
to the many kids. If you are willing to participate in
this important ministry by donating bags of candy
please bring them to the vestibule in the Church or the
parish ofice by October 26th.
Thank you!
St. Faustina Conference, SVdP is so grateful for
the generous donations of food for our pantry.
Now that school has started, we look toward
to Fall and feeding hungry families as the weather
changes.
Some suggestions:
Canned tuna and chicken; bags of rice and rice sides (Knorr); Hearty canned soup; canned baked beans or any variety of beans; pasta sauce and noodles; macaroni and cheese; boxed or instant potatoes.
We appreciate any and all donations!
Gratefully,
St Faustina Conference

Do you have questions about Catholicism or what it means to be Catholic? Are you interested in expanding your faith with a deeper understanding of the Church beyond that which you may have learned in Catechism as a child, or someone on the fence about converting to the Catholic faith? Or are you someone who wants to share your own understanding of the faith and help other Catholics to comprehend the often-difficult teachings of the Bible, or simply someone looking for an outlet to talk about religion with like-minded people? The St. Faustina OCIA Team would like to welcome all parishioners and their guests to our first open discussion group about the Catholic Faith. There are no topics or questions off limits or commitments required; our goal is simply to bring people of all walks of life and all levels of faith closer to God through a more thorough shared understanding of Catholicism. If you are interested, or even just curious, please join us for coffee & open discussion at 9:45 on Sundays beginning this Sunday, 5/25 in the Family Center!
In May we began the annual CSA Collection that will last for several months. Our generous parishioners are supporting all kinds of projects including helping poor people, St.
Vincent de Paul, Knights of Columbus, Giving Tree, etc. It is time to consider the Church
as poor and support the Church with our Archbishop Weisenburger and I hope with Pope
Leo XIV, our new Pope, will grow strong and continue to evangelize, educate and provide
people with the experience of God in their lives. Please look into your mail and consider a
generous contribution to CSA. If you did not get a letter, contact the Parish Office and we
will help you make your donation. Our goal this year is $41,782.00.
