We are reaching the end of the school year and it is time to
think about children at home needing meals and snacks
while enjoying their summer vacation.
Breakfast items, protein bars, pop tarts, boxes of cereal,
juice boxes, snack size fruit cups, pudding, pretzels, crack
ers would be helpful for parents to have on hand.
We still need all of the staples such as canned vegetables,
hearty soups, tuna, canned chicken and spam, pasta sauce
and noodles, canned beans, bags of rice, macaroni and
cheese and canned ravioli.
We could use condiments such as mustard, ketchup,
barbeque sauce and mayonnaise for summer meals.
With your donations we do purchase some meats and
bread to include each month in our food orders. Milk and
some fresh produce are also included in each order.
Finally, we get requests for dish and laundry detergent and
could use donations of these, small sizes appreciated.
We are very grateful for the kind and generous donations
you are able to provide.
St. Vincent de Paul, St Faustina Conference
Please register for one of the two Parish Listening Sessions, either Monday May 18 or Wednesday May 20, at 7:00 P.M. At these sessions, three possible scenarios for the future of St. Faustina Parish will be presented. Attendees will be able to ask questions and give feedback on the proposals, as well as to receive a parish workbook containing information about our parish and the entire Archdiocese.
Fr. Bogdan is proposing that for the summer months (July & August) we have only one Mass on Sunday, at 10:00 a.m. This arrangement will help us to gather more people to our church for one Mass. Remember, it is only a proposal. Discuss among yourselves. On May 18th and/or 20th (which ever date you choose) we will have our listening sessions that all parishioners are invited to, to discuss which pastorate will be good for people of our area. During that time, you can let Fr. Bogdan know your decision on whether to have one Mass on Sunday during the Summer.
Do you have questions about Catholicism or what it
means to be Catholic? Are you interested in expanding
your faith with a deeper understanding of the Church
beyond that which you may have learned in Catechism
as a child, or someone on the fence about converting to
the Catholic faith? Or are you someone who wants to
share your own understanding of the faith and help other Catholics to comprehend the often-difficult teachings
of the Bible, or simply someone looking for an outlet to
talk about religion with like-minded people? The St.
Faustina OCIA Team would like to welcome all parishioners and their guests to our first open discussion
group about the Catholic Faith. There are no topics or
questions off limits or commitments required, our goal
is simply to bring people of all walks of life and all levels of faith closer to God through a more thorough
shared understanding of Catholicism.
If you are interested, or even just curious, please join us
for coffee & open discussion at 9:45 on Sundays
beginning on Sunday, May 3rd in the Family Center!
As we move into the next step of the restructuring
process, each parish has been
assigned dates for its listening sessions. Parishioners
are encouraged to attend one of
these two sessions, where three potential models
for our parish will be presented and
feedback will be gathered. You can register
for the session by scanning the code in the parish bulletin or
you can go on-line to https://
restructuring.aod.org/ to register. There is
more information available on the website
regarding the restructuring process.
Our parish listening sessions will take place
on:
Monday May 18, from 7:00 p.m.—9:00 p.m., and
Wednesday May 20, 7:00 p.m.—9:00 p.m.
The sessions will be held in the parish hall.
To enhance the safety and security of our St. Faustina parishioners and guests, will we now be locking the entry doors five minutes after Mass begins. Please strive to be on time.
We are in need of Ushers and
Lectors at all of the weekend
Masses. If you are interested in
helping out, at the Mass you
usually attend, please call the
parish office at (586) 772-2720.
St. Faustina has implemented an inclement weather policy. If Warren Woods school district cancels classes because of the weather, St. Faustina's parish offices will also be closed, and there will be NO MASS that day (other than a funeral). Please watch your television or check the Warren Woods website for closure information. It will also be posted on the parish website whenever possible.
