Under the new AoD guidance, all volunteers must take the Protecting God’s Children training and have a yearly background check.
All positions at the parish must comply with this policy, including Altar Servers, Ushers, Lectors, EMs, Catechists, Money Counters, Hospitality, SVdP, assisting in Religious Education, Heart & Soul Dinner/ Raffle, Commissions/Committees or any other position you may be involved with in the parish.
Many of you have already taken this training in the past and should have received a message to begin the process of recertifying. If you have taken the training in the past, see the Protecting God’s Children article on this page. If you have never taken the training before, log into www.virtus.org and create an account. Follow the prompts given and register for a session.
If you plan to volunteer for something in the future, now is a good time to begin the process. Questions may be directed to Linda Reiterman at (586) 772-2720.
Recertification is required for all existing volunteers and employees who previously took Protecting God’s Children (PGC) before January 1, 2020. Recertification must be completed by November 1, 2023.
If you did not receive an email about your recertification, log into your existing Virtus account at www.virtus.org - you should not create a new account if you have taken Protecting God’s Children in the past. If you do not remember your username or password, or if you have difficulties accessing your account, or have further questions contact the parish office at (586) 772-2720. Once you have logged into your Virtus account you should see the assigned training under the Home tab / Current Training.
The self-paced modules (Protecting God’s Children and Vulnerable Adults) are entirely online and take approximately 2.5 hours to complete. You can stop and start as you need to complete training at your convenience.
Yearly background checks are also required.

Our Parish Family has been very generous is donating food for those in need and we are very grateful.
At this time we could use: Hearty soups, meat and vegetable varieties; canned beef stew and chili; canned corn, creamed corn, peas, and mixed vegetables. We are also in need of Aldi gift cards. The groceries at Aldi’s are very reasonable and we purchase bread, hamburger and hot dog buns there when needed.
Your recent response to requests have been so welcomed and so helpful!
With gratitude, Joan Theisen SVdP, St. Faustina Conference Office: 586-773-9231
If you know of any one house-bound who needs food assistance, please contact us at our office at 586-773-9231. We also have an email: [email protected]
